Tina Morocco-Collins Doctor of Physical Therapy is the creator and owner of Natural Instincts Inc. She is a licensed physical therapist practicing for the past 17 years. She earned her first bachelors degree in microbiology from the University of Iowa, her bachelors in physical therpay from University of Illinois and her doctorate from the University of St. Augustine. Prior to her formal studies,Tina spent her earlier years as a professional dancer with an international touring company and studied extensively in ballet. She has also had the pleasure to perform with such stars as Melba Moore and the great Sammy Davis Jr. She will never forget the great advice given by Sammy Davis Jr. during a conversation back stage as they waited to go on. He said: "It's time for you to take the torch...share your passion and never, never stop doing what you love!" Since that time Tina has done just that - doing what she loves and sharing her passion of dance which lead her to a new profession - Physical Therapy.

After sustaining a back injury while on tour abroad, she discovered physical therapy and pilates simultaneously while undergoing rehab for her back. After learning more about Physical Therapy, Tina decided to go back to school. Upon earning her professional degree in physical therapy, she was immediately employed at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island where remained for 11 years. Upon leaving St. Francis, Tina practiced as a contract physical therapist for the Pilates Studio of the Midwest while obtaining her authentic pilates certification. She also provided services to children ages birth to 3 years of age through the Department of Human Services - Early Intervention Program.

Tina has recently opened her own private practice and wellness facility - (Natural Instincts Inc.- December 2006),where she continues to treat adults and children while working on her doctorate in manual orthopedic physical therapy (University of St. Augustine). She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as well as the Support Organization for Minority Physical Therapists (SOMPT). She is also a certified clinical instructor awarded through Northwestern University.

As a licensed physical therapist, specializing in orthopedic manual therapy, and an authentic certified pilates instructor, she has incorporated the concepts of "core"strengthening and hands on approach into her protocol for her patients. In addition, she is an avid yogis and understands the benefits of this life form as she incorporates it in her practice as part of a holistic approach to health and wellness.

Her background of dance, pilates and yoga, combined with her medical expertece in biomechanics, and neuromuscular and orthopedic dysfunctions, gives way to her unique insight into the body's natural flow towards the state of balance, control and harmony. She emphazises the importance of body awareness and understanding the concept of "knowing yourself" in both her physical therapy practice as well as her wellness classes.

"If you can feel it then it becomes easier to understand it! The human body is a fascinating intricate system capable of fabulous movement and breath! Let's enjoy the experience of what is innately natural and instinctive in all of us!

So, if you just want to get by with temporary satisfaction now and then, we wish you well. If your want to change your body, master a new and enlightened way of thinking about health and wellness, and learn the art of truly "knowing yourself", then come and see us!! We guarantee a new you!!!
